Email Frequently Asked Questions

  1. How do I use my email account?
Each email account will need to be setup in your email client. Click here for detailed information on setting up the Outlook Express email client. The information provided here is generally required by all email clients.

  2. Why do I get a message that the server cannot be contacted when I try to send an email?
Most ISP's block users from sending SMTP (outgoing mail) requests to servers that are not in their network. If you get this error, especially if you have a dial-up account, this is probably happening to you. The remedy is to use your ISP's SMTP server. You do this by replacing mail.virtuallyontheweb.com with your ISP's server in the Outgoing mail box only. The POP server will still be mail.virtuallyontheweb.com.

  3. Can I change the 'Postmaster' email account?
The Postmaster email account that you use to login to the Email Administration page is not included in your allotted email accounts. Each domain has this account. Though you may be able to change it, we suggest that you do not.
